Gwanak District to Host 'Cheonga-jeul' Youth Festival on the 24th
Seoul's Gwanak District announced on the 7th that it will hold the "5th 2026 Gwanak Youth Festival Cheonga-jeul" at the Gwanak District Office Plaza on the 24th. This year's theme is "Our Cheer Begins!", with the youth festival planning group "Cheontist" directly involved in everything from selecting the theme to producing online promotional materials such as reels and card news, and running the event.
The event will open with a "Cheering Cooperation Mission Program," in which 100 local elementary, middle, and high school students will form teams to take part in cooperative missions such as rolling a large ball. At the following opening ceremony, Gwanak District Mayor Park Jun-hee will serve as cheer leader, joining Cheontist in a performance using cheer balls to deliver a message to the youth. After the opening ceremony, there will be "Cheering Radio," which deals with the dreams, concerns, and daily lives of young people, followed by a "DJ Cheering Party" featuring music.
On stage, 10 youth club teams will perform bands, dance, and cheerleading. There will also be dance performances by Sungkyul University's cheerleading team "Pegasus" and "CB CREW," a winning team from a youth club competition. Outside the stage, experience booths will be set up for activities such as making wooden mechanical pencils, making cheering keycaps, and face painting, allowing not only youth but also local residents to participate together.
Local youth and families can visit the Gwanak District Office Plaza on the 24th to enjoy the performances and hands-on programs.
Mayor Park Jun-hee said, "I hope this will be an occasion for young people to step away from their daily routines and spend a joyful and happy time cheering each other on."
